Haha no, I tell you I tried damn long to figure out too. You just need to first compress your photos using Microsoft Office Picture Manager (i'm not sure if you have it though, I have it 'cos I installed MS Office 2007 :S ) and select compression for Webpages. They'll resize your photos and compress it accordingly so that it'll fit nicely into a webpage, and then you can upload this without resizing further into wordpress. You just upload, and select "Link to Page/File". Don't need to upload as a thumbnail. Hey! Haha no, I tell you I tried damn long to figure out too.
